Assumptions 04-25-2010
They lead to sadness,
They lead to lies;
They lead to heartbreak,
They lead to confusion.
They are often wrong,
Or based on fantasies;
If this is true,
Why do we live by them?
They guide some lives,
Down a path of destruction;
They guide some others,
Straight to the grave.
Accompanied by danger,
They do no good;
They serve no purpose,
They are just assumptions.
Oppression is here,
Why do I have to hide my true self?
Judgement is looming,
That is the reason why.
I like girls,
Does that make me a monster?
I'm still very human,
Why am I treated like an alien?
I am a person,
With many parts;
Lesbian is one of them,
It does not define me.
People should take the time,
To actually know who I am;
They shouldn't judge my character,
On the direction I sexually swing.
It is like a prison,
In my home and schools;
My mother and my peers,
Act like such fools.
Seems there hasn't been any new art accepted into this group since April of of 2010. After more than a decade, I think it's say to say it's unfortunately dead.
